Deò could be North America’s first Celtic Electronic band. Formed in 2024 the powerhouse group takes the talents of four of the nation’s most accomplished Celtic musicians and overlays the sounds of traditional instruments and tunes with modern EDM beats. Imagine a cross between the Chieftains and Skrillex and you have something like the sound of Deò.
The word Deò (Scottish Gaelic) roughly translates to a chant of the vital spark of life and vision beyond the veil.
The group is the brainchild of Abbie Palmer (electric harp, vocals, producer, programmer) she is joined by U.S National fiddle champion Seán Heely (fiddle, vocals), Agi Kovacs (percussive dance), and guest premiering Lucas Ashby (audio engineer, percussion).
As their name suggests, Deò infuses a spark of life into the world of Celtic music with their brand of high energy Electronic Dance Music.
